Interviewee: Sandra Ventura

1)      Please provide the most interesting example of technical / smart textiles that you have.

Name of product: LEDinTEX

Description of the product: Demonstrator project - industrialization and validation of textiles with integrated lighting systems (LEDs) – industrial production of curtains with LEDs.

LEDinTEX is a light technology that allows the use of LEDs within the curtains Jaquard design. A industrial equipment/machine was created and the team was able to create added value to the product by creating a software that allows to connect the LEDs to a Bluetooth. Costumers are able to connect/disconnect the curtains remotely via internet.

The project worked with an adaptation of technologies and implementation of a pilot line in industrial environment for the production of textile solutions with integration of lighting systems [LEDs]. It allowed the creation of an efficient pilot line, for production of Curtains with LEDs (Jaquard) reducing manual labor time, production time, reflected in unit cost, adding reproducibility and ability to produce large scale.
