7 4. Other aspects of the Intercultural Partnership

7.2 Interference with the national culture of the host partner at Joint Staff Events

Although the scientific and professional cooperation of the members of the project consortium can be stated as most important for the success of the project, also other aspects of the cooperation should not be neglected.

Joint Staff Events held in partner countries were always good opportunities for knowing the culture and history of the host partners. Detailed information on Interference with the national culture of the host partner at Joint Staff Events can be find in the tables in Annex. Here, we are presenting some most important views of the project partners:

-          Within the agendas of the meetings and joint staff events, we always had a chance to visit the lecturing rooms, laboratories and libraries of the host organization. This was the opportunity to get additional experiences and knowledge, which was taken by the participants to home countries and was shared among other colleagues.

-          Visiting the educational and research facilities, laboratories and libraries of the host organizations was a good occasion to have an overall imagine regarding the partners capabilities in terms of education and research. By means of this visits, we also found out new subjects of interest within the consortium partners.

-          Taking part at some international conferences organised in the same period as Joint Staff Events in different partner cities.

-          The cultural heritage of the partner countries was an opportunity to enrich oneself knowledge in view of common human values.

-          Visiting some successful textile companies gave us examples of good practices regarding the approaches that the textile companies should consider in their development strategies within the European and international textile markets.

-          Visiting the textile related fairs and exhibitions was an opportunity to find out some particular concepts of displaying the research portfolio, in an attractive and original way, in order to point out the relevance and the importance of all related textile fields for the entire community.

-          The cultural heritage of the partner countries was an opportunity to enrich oneself knowledge in view of common human values.

-          Visit the city of Guimarães and Porto, World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

-          Visits to partner cities and knowing the cultural heritage of the partner countries was a good occasions to exchange experiences and build bridges between the participants.

-          Knowing better the culture by visiting the partner countries, cultural spots and events is one of the important contribution of the project. In this respect, we recognized the differences, but also many similarities between Romania, Czech Republic, Portugal and Slovenia.
