1)      Please provide the most interesting example of technical / smart textiles that you have.

Name of product: Ballet suits with lights (Pilot innovation project)

Description of the product:

The company was developing a pilot project with the University of Minho in order to introduce lights in the ballet suits. Specialists were including led lights in the suits and a prototype was created.

Some of the problems related to industrial implementation were identified during the prototype development and were related with the intense use of the suits, sweating and the number of times the suits need to be washed (every time after practice), the fact that the battery is always very close to the ballerina skin.

 

2)      How did you promote or put your product on the market?

It is not in the market. A prototype exists.

 

3)      What requirements do your customers most request? (EC Certifications, washing etc.)
